The Iloilo City Government recorded a 99.1% positive action rate on audit action items covering 2025 and the preceding years from 2020 to 2024.
In a statement, the city government said 63.5% of the action items had been fully implemented, while 35.7% were partially implemented with corrective measures ongoing. The remaining 0.9% had yet to be implemented.
The report also showed 100% implementation of tracked action items involving procurement compliance, engineering transparency, and Gender and Development (GAD) attributions in social welfare programs.
The city government said it was prioritizing the completion of bank reconciliations, the Land Bank e-Payment agreement covering barangays’ shares in Real Property Tax (RPT) collections, and the submission of dormant account write-off requests with supporting documents.
The City Treasurer’s Office (CTO) has prepared checks representing RPT shares for some barangays, but these remain unclaimed because the concerned barangays have yet to submit the required receipts.
The CTO continues to issue notices and follow up with the barangays while pursuing direct crediting of funds to their respective accounts.
To recall, the Commission on Audit (COA) issued an unmodified opinion on the city government’s financial statements for the years ended Dec. 31, 2024, and Dec. 31, 2025, indicating that the statements were fairly presented in accordance with the applicable financial reporting framework.
The corrective measures are covered by the Agency Action Plan and Status of Implementation. The reported progress remains subject to COA verification and assessment in its next audit report, expected in 2027.
The city government said the administration of Mayor Raisa Treñas remains committed to responsible public fund management, addressing deficiencies, and strengthening systems to ensure that public funds are properly accounted for and used for the benefit of Ilonggos.
