The world-famous Boracay Island in Malay, Aklan, logged a 15 percent increase in tourist arrivals last month.
The Malay Tourism Office recorded a total of 225,030 tourists in April 2026, higher compared with 195,487 arrivals in the same month last year.
Of the latest figure, 163,133 were domestic tourists; 30, 153 were international visitors; and 2,201 were overseas Filipino workers (OFWS) and overseas Filipinos.
Boracay is known for its crystal-clear waters, powdery white sand, and vibrant island life. It is Western Visayas’ top tourist drawer.
Stretching approximately four kilometers, Boracay’s White Beach is divided into Stations 1, 2, and 3, each catering to different market segments, from luxury and leisure travelers to families and backpackers.IMT
