The Iloilo City Government unveiled on Wednesday, May 20, the highly anticipated lineup of activities for the month-long celebration of the country’s grandest celebration of active mobility— the 2026 Iloilo Bike Festival.
Carrying the theme “FLOW CITY: Iloilo Always On the Move,” this year’s festival, organized by the Iloilo Festivals Foundation, Inc. (IFFI) in collaboration with Megaworld Corporation, will run from June 3 to June 30, 2026.
The event is designed to promote a healthy, active lifestyle while advancing eco-friendly practices to solidify Iloilo City’s reputation as the “Bike Capital of the Philippines.”
Among the major highlights of the festival is the participation of Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) General Manager Nicolas Torre III, who will serve as a Plenary Speaker at the Active Mobility Conference on June 3.
Demonstrating a shared commitment to sustainable urban transport, Torre is also set to join City Mayor Raisa Treñas and other local officials for a high-profile “Bike-to-Work” run on the morning of June 5.
To accommodate the growing cycling community, organizers have significantly expanded the festival’s footprint, with the Megaworld Iloilo Business Park serving as a primary hub for wellness and walkability events.
The official schedule of activities includes:
▪️June 3 (World Bicycle Day): Active Mobility Conference, World Bicycle Day Celebration, and the annual Mobility Count.
▪️June 5: Official Opening Program and the collective “Bike to Work” Day.
▪️June 5–30: The Food Bike Crawl, showcasing Iloilo’s local culinary delights accessible by bicycle.
▪️June 13–14: The adrenaline-pumping Mega Criterium Race.
▪️June 20: Push Bike Race (designed for young, upcoming riders).
▪️June 21: The grand finale featuring the Iloilo Duathlon, Grand Fun Ride, Battle of the Bands, and the Awarding & Closing Program.
By merging health, sport, and eco-tourism, the Iloilo Bike Festival 2026 aims to inspire cities nationwide to move toward healthier, greener, and more pedestrian-friendly urban planning.IMT
