For nearly eight decades, Coca-Cola has been part of Bacolod’s growth story, building long-standing partnerships with local communities, businesses, and the sugar industry that has helped shape the Negros region. Today, Coca-Cola Europacific Aboitiz Philippines (CCEAP) continues to strengthen this commitment through its Bacolod Plant, where all premium refined sugar used in production is sourced locally.

Located in the country’s sugar capital, the Bacolod Plant reflects Coca-Cola’s enduring connection to one of the Philippines’ most important agricultural industries.

“Negros has played an important role in Coca-Cola’s journey in the Philippines, and we remain committed to supporting the communities and industries that have grown alongside us through the years,” said Chris Pesigan, President and CEO of CCEAP.

“Through our Bacolod operations, we continue to work with local partners and support communities while serving consumers across the Visayas. As we continue to invest in our operations, we want our growth to continue opening opportunities for Filipinos and creating value in the places we are proud to call home. As a Negrense myself, nothing would make me happier than seeing both our company and the province from where I trace my maternal roots growing and prospering together.”

CCEAP is the country’s largest industrial buyer of locally produced sugar and continues to grow its sugar requirements year on year. The majority of the Philippine sugar used in Coca-Cola products comes from Negros, underscoring the region’s important contribution to the company’s operations and the broader domestic beverage industry.

Coca-Cola first established its presence in Bacolod in 1948 with a manufacturing site along Lacson Street before relocating operations to Barangay Mansilingan in 1998 to support future growth and expanding consumer demand.

Over the decades, the plant has become a strategic production hub supplying Coca-Cola beverages throughout the Visayas. This capability was further strengthened in May 2022 with the completion of a new manufacturing line that supported the plant’s production capacity.

Building on sustained growth and economic opportunity in Negros, CCEAP is continuing to invest in Bacolod through planned expansions to its production facilities, including a new manufacturing line. These investments will support growing demand, strengthen local manufacturing, and create additional employment opportunities and economic activity in the community.

Beyond manufacturing, the company continues to support local communities through programs focused on livelihoods, environmental stewardship, and disaster response. Guided by its People-First approach, CCEAP seeks to create positive impact in the communities where it operates while contributing to local economic development.

As demand continues to grow, CCEAP remains committed to investing in local manufacturing while maintaining Philippine production as its primary source of supply. Through facilities such as its Bacolod Plant, the company aims to continue supporting local industries, strengthening community partnerships, and creating opportunities across its value chain.
