The government has provided P42.87 million in assistance to families affected by the enhanced southwest monsoon or Habagat and tropical cyclones Luis and Maymay.
Office of Civil Defense Assistant Secretary Laurence Mina said the aid was distributed by the OCD, Department of Social Welfare and Development, local governments and other agencies.
According to Mina, 384,520 families or around 1.31 million people have been affected in Metro Manila and several regions in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
Of the affected families, 16,130 or 58,650 people are staying in 624 evacuation centers.
Another 11,360 families or 39,290 people are temporarily staying outside evacuation centers.
Authorities also reported 367 damaged houses, including 27 totally damaged and 340 partially damaged, in parts of Luzon.
Twelve people have been reported dead, eight missing and 11 injured in Region 1, the Cordillera Administrative Region and Calabarzon. Mina said the figures are still being validated.
Search and rescue operations are continuing in Atok, Benguet and Guisad Surong in Baguio City, with the AFP, PNP, BFP and DPWH taking part.
The OCD-Cordillera is also distributing food and non-food items worth P1.67 million to affected families.IMT
