A month-long celebration showcasing Ilonggo arts, culture, and creativity is underway at Iloilo Business Park as it marks its first anniversary as Iloilo City’s Center of Arts and Culture.

‎The Experience Iloilo City program, running from July 1 to 31, features seven creative disciplines—sculpture, painting, architecture, music, literature, dance, and cinema—through exhibitions, public art installations, performances, workshops, film screenings, and other community activities.

‎One of the event’s main highlights is the unveiling and ceremonial lighting of Pagsinapol, a public sculpture by AR Sculptura, on July 17 at the Festive Walk Road Roundabout, followed by performances by Ilonggo musicians and appearances by the cast of ABS-CBN Studios’ hit action-drama series Blood vs. Duty.

‎The celebration also includes visual art exhibitions, immersive installations, an architecture and design competition, a graffiti showcase, live music performances, a comics workshop, a children’s book fair, a cultural stage production, and the screening of an Ilonggo film.

‎A three-day Taste of Iloilo activity from July 17 to 19 at Festive Walk Parade will complement the milestone by showcasing local cuisine and familiar Ilonggo flavors.

The program aims to provide a platform for local artists, performers, designers, and storytellers while promoting Ilonggo heritage through a variety of cultural experiences.Pia Maleriado, WVSU-COC intern/IMT
