Iloilo City Mayor Raisa Treñas has banned liquor, gambling, videoke and other activities that could cause problems in and around cemeteries during the Undas period.

Under Executive Order No. (EO) 103, the restrictions will be in effect from 12:01 a.m. on October 29 until 11:59 p.m. on November 3.

The order covers public and private cemeteries, memorial parks, graveyards and similar places in Iloilo City.

Among those banned are alcoholic drinks, highly combustible materials, unregistered drones, unlicensed firearms, large speakers and videoke machines, gambling and overnight stays.

Littering is also prohibited.

“All persons shall properly dispose of waste only at designated waste disposal stations. Cemetery and memorial park administratgors shall provide and maintain accessible, properly marked, and startegically located waste collection points for proper segregation, collection, and disposal,” EO 103 read.

The city government will also regulate flower vendors during the Undas period.

Only vendors with a special permit from the city mayor will be allowed to sell flowers, and they can operate only in designated areas.

These include Jaro Plaza, Molo Plaza, Mandurriao Plaza, Arevalo Plaza and Iznart Street in City Proper.

Applications for the special permit will be accepted from October 5 to October 23. The permit fee is P500.

Vendors will also be required to keep their areas clean and provide trash bins. Their stalls must be removed by 8 p.m. on November 2.IMT
