The government is encouraging Filipinos to invest in Retail Treasury Bonds (RTBs), which can be purchased for as little as P5,000.

Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said RTBs allow ordinary Filipinos to earn fixed interest while the government uses the money to fund various programs and projects.

“Ginawa po ito ng gobyerno para sa ordinaryong Pilipino, sa empleyado, sa maliliit na negosyante at sa pamilyang gustong palaguin ang kanilang pinaghirapang ipon,” Castro said.

For RTB 32, investors can earn a fixed interest rate of 6.875% per year for a 2.5-year term.

Castro said investors can also buy RTBs through participating banks and other selling agents, including through mobile banking apps and e-wallets.

“Madali lang po ang pag-enroll dito, pwede na po itong gawin sa ating mga mobile banking apps at e-wallets,” she said.

The subscription period for RTB 32 runs until October 7, with the settlement date set for October 12.IMT
