In a continuous bid to maintain peace and order and reduce criminality, Iloilo City is intensifying its campaign against loose firearms by hosting a two-day License to Own and Possess Firearms (LTOPF) caravan from May 7 to 8.

The registration and renewal drive will run from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Conference Hall of the Nutrition Center, located just in front of the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) Headquarters.

ICPO urged all gun owners with expired or unregistered firearms to take advantage of the accessible service.

While the event is open to the general public, a special call is being made to barangay officials, City Hall employees, and other government personnel to lead by example and ensure their firearm documents are up to date.

To streamline the process and avoid long waiting times, organizers highly advise all applicants to secure their National Police Clearance prior to proceeding to the venue.

The initiative is part of a broader collaborative effort between the local government and the police force to strictly regulate firearms within the metro.

“Let us work together in regulating firearms and reducing criminality,” the city government emphasized in its public advisory. “Responsible gun ownership is an integral part of protecting our City.”

Residents and officials who possess firearms are encouraged to mark their calendars and ensure full compliance with the law for a safer and more peaceful Iloilo City.IMT
