Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson has challenged Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano to identify the people he claimed were being pressured to admit irregularities in Taguig infrastructure projects, accusing his colleague of trying to spin the controversy.

Lacson issued the challenge after Cayetano discussed the allegations during a Facebook Live broadcast, saying he had received “feelers” that certain individuals were being pressured to admit wrongdoing.

“Spinning tales betrays panic but like guilt, it will never go away,” he said in a post on X.

“Sen. Cayetano should name the ‘individuals’ he alleged I threatened, so I can properly address this new issue point by point,” the senator added.

The dispute comes as allegations of irregularities in flood-control projects and illegal reclamation in Taguig face scrutiny.

Lacson earlier accused Cayetano of resorting to claims of a politically motivated demolition job, fake news and trial by publicity as evidence of alleged corruption in the city emerged.

In a September 3 X post, Lacson described Cayetano as both “quacking” on Facebook Live and “quaking in his boots” over the allegations.

The senator and his team have submitted at least 45 case studies backed by official documents to the Office of the Ombudsman, detailing what they described as systemic anomalies in Taguig flood-control infrastructure projects. The submissions prompted a fact-finding investigation.

Lacson also recently shared a video on X showing a composite inspection team documenting what he described as continuing illegal reclamation on the Taguig side of Laguna Lake.IMT
