A 36-year-old lending company manager died after being gunned down by riding-in-tandem assailants in Barangay Ponong Grande, Dueñas, Iloilo on Wednesday morning, Nov. 4.

The victim, identified only as Roy Asok Lomojo, a resident of Barangay Man-it, Passi City, succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds to his neck, back, and leg.

Police Captain Isagani Tabares, chief of the Dueñas police station, said Lomojo was riding his motorcycle from Passi City to Dingle when gunmen opened fire on him in front of Ponong Grande Elementary School.

The victim was rushed to Don Valerio Palmares District Hospital in Passi City, where he was pronounced dead before he could be transferred to an Iloilo City facility.

Investigators are leaning toward a work-related motive after recovering P300,000 in cash intact from the crime scene, ruling out robbery.

Tabares said the suspects immediately fled towards Dingle after the shooting without taking any of the victim’s belongings.

One of the suspects in the shooting incident was arrested. Alias “Bong-bong,” 50, was caught by authorities at his home in Brgy. Sablogon, Passi City.

At the crime scene, police collected four slugs along with seven spent casings matching a .45-caliber handgun.IMT
