President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. wrapped up a busy week by rolling out major projects on renewable energy, healthcare, infrastructure and social services, while also bringing home fresh investment commitments from Singapore.

“The Philippines is ready for more investments and partnerships that will create jobs and improve the lives of Filipinos,” Marcos Jr. told business leaders during his working visit to Singapore, where he promoted the country as a competitive investment destination.

Among the week’s biggest milestones was the inauguration of the first phase of the P500-billion MTerra Solar Project in Nueva Ecija, which is expected to become the world’s largest integrated solar and battery storage facility.

The President also launched the expanded UPLIFT Assistance Program, releasing P12.375 billion in aid for 7.5 million low-income families.

In Camiguin, Marcos Jr. inspected new port facilities, checked the implementation of the government’s zero-balance billing program at the provincial hospital, and led the distribution of rice assistance. He also appointed Dr. Jose Pujalte Jr. as the country’s new Health secretary.

The President ended the week by addressing the graduating class of the Philippine Merchant Marine Academy, where he reaffirmed government support for Filipino seafarers and maritime education as part of the administration’s push to create more opportunities for workers.IMT
