President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. underscored the importance of the Philippines’ partnership with Germany during a luncheon for German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier at Malacañang.
Marcos Jr. said Germany has been a key partner in various areas that contribute to the country’s development, citing more than seven decades of diplomatic relations.
The President also welcomed Steinmeier and his wife, Elke Büdenbender, and showcased Filipino hospitality during the event.
For his part, Steinmeier thanked Marcos Jr. and First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos for the warm reception and described his visit as a great honor.
The German leader also noted growing economic ties between the two countries, saying hundreds of German firms are looking to invest in the Philippines.IMT
