President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said the country will soon have Southeast Asia’s largest dialysis center once the new 13-story Hemodialysis Building at the National Kidney and Transplant Institute (NKTI) is completed.
During an inspection of the project, Marcos Jr. ordered the DPWH to speed up construction to improve dialysis services for Filipinos with chronic kidney disease (CKD).
“Pag natapos ito, ito ang magiging pinakamalaking dialysis center sa South East Asia,” the President said.
The facility will house 200 dialysis machines and is expected to start accepting patients before the end of 2027.
Marcos Jr. also cited expanded PhilHealth benefits, including increased dialysis session coverage from 90 to 156 annually and higher dialysis benefits from P4,000 to P6,350 per session.IMT
