President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Monday, June 29, assured local communities that the national government is ready to respond to their needs and concerns.
Speaking during the turnover of the Socio-Civic Project Fund in Zamboanga Peninsula, Marcos Jr. said the government should not only issue directives but also listen to local governments.
He encouraged local officials and residents to immediately report problems and request assistance from government agencies.
“Kapag may kailangan kayo, kapag may nakikita kayong problema, sabihin ninyo sa amin, sabihin ninyo sa mga local government officials, sabihin ninyo sa mga barangay officials, sabihin ninyo sa bawat ahensya ng national government kung kaya naming gawin,” the President said.
Marcos Jr. also pledged stronger coordination with LGUs and said he would push for a bigger budget for the SCPF and Local Government Support Fund in 2027 if both programs continue to deliver good results.
He also turned over P371.8 million under the SCPF-Bawat Bayan Makikinabang Program to the provinces of Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay, and Zamboanga City.IMT
