Playing like well-oiled machines, the Oklahoma City Thunder completed a four-game sweep of the Los Angeles Lakers with a 115-110 win in Game e to advance to the Western Conference Finals.
Tallying his game high-35 points, Canada’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the way for the Thunder in Game 4 steering the defending champions to an unblemished 8-0 in the post-season, as they also swept the Phoenix Suns in Round 1.
The Thunder will now await the winner of the second-round series between the Minnesota Timberwolves and San Antonio Spurs to play for the right to represent the West in the NBA Finals.
Meanwhile, despite their best effort, the Lakers will head into another off-season full of question marks, with the status of 41-year-old LeBron James under contract for next season.
James has still not officially committed to playing another season, which would be his 24th in the NBA. He finished 24 points and 14 rebounds in the final game of the unprecedented 23rd season for the top scorer in NBA history, but he missed a driving bank shot with 20 seconds left that would have put the Lakers ahead.IMT Sports
