The Iloilo City Government is set to deploy its newly acquired electric mini sweeper truck worth P3.5 million to bolster sanitation efforts in tight public spaces across the metropolis.
City General Services Office (CGSO) head Engr. Neil Ravena said the compact vehicle will accelerate cleaning operations in public areas that are too narrow for standard sweeper trucks to navigate.
Despite its smaller size, Ravena noted the eco-friendly mini sweeper can haul up to 1.6 tons of waste per operational run.
The acquisition was fully funded through the city’s statutory share of one centavo per kilowatt-hour generated by a local power producer.IMT
