Fresh graduates may soon get P5,000 cash aid under a bill filed by Senator JV Ejercito.

Senate Bill No. 1961, or the “Fresh Graduates P5,000 One-Time Cash Grant Act of 2026,” aims to help cover job-hunting costs like transport, resume printing, and interview expenses.

Ejercito said many graduates struggle due to job mismatch and rising costs while looking for work, noting an increase in unemployed degree holders.

The proposed aid will add to existing perks under the First Time Jobseekers Assistance Act.

To avail, graduates must present proof like a diploma, with CHED set to oversee implementation once the measure is passed.IMT
