Malacañang on Tuesday, June 9, highlighted the increase in the country’s employment level, saying the government remains focused on creating quality jobs for Filipinos.

Palace press officer Claire Castro said total employment reached 48.89 million in April 2026, with the services sector accounting for the biggest share.

“Ang total employment ay tumaas sa 48.89 million in April 2026 kung saan ang services sector ang may malaking parte 62. 3 percent so maraming challenges sa ating ekonomiya pero dahil hindi sumusuko ang mga Pilipino at patuloy na intervention ng gobyerno… naging maganda ang resulta,” Castro said.

“Kahit medyo nag-increase ang employment rate patuloy ang ating gobyerno sa paglikha ng de-kalidad na trabaho, at patuloy na pagbibigay ng livelihood projects sa ating mga kababayan,” she added.

Castro said the government will continue pushing job generation, investments, and livelihood programs to help more Filipinos find work.IMT
