A pawnshop in Barangay Poblacion Centro, Calinog, Iloilo, was burglarized by still unidentified suspects on Sunday, April 26.
The burglars ransacked C. Bayate Pawnshop and carted away about P100,000 worth of jewelry items, according to the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO).
Initial investigation showed that the suspects managed to enter the shop from a drainage pipe or culvert located directly beneath the establishment.
The incident was reported on Monday morning, April 27, by a 36-year-old employee identified only by authorities as alias alias “Elna.”
The employee said she was surprised when she saw, upon her arrival, the things inside the shop in disarray and were scattering on the floor.
In a report by radio station RMN Iloilo, Lieutenant Colonel Araño, IPPO director, said they will create a special team to further investigate the incident and identify the suspects.IMT
