The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has submitted the proposed P7.2-trillion national budget for 2027 to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

Budget Secretary Kim Robert de Leon personally handed the proposed National Expenditure Program (NEP) to Marcos on Monday, Aug. 10, according to Palace Press Officer Claire Castro.

The proposed budget will prioritize education, healthcare, livelihood, national security and the strengthening of communities.

The government also wants to make better use of public funds by improving government services and creating more opportunities for Filipinos.

The DBM will formally submit the 2027 NEP to Congress on Tuesday, Aug. 11, for deliberations.IMT
