Iloilo Third District Representative Lorenz Defensor, one of the ranking members of the House of Representatives, has expressed frustration over President Bongbong Marcos’ response to corruption issues.
According to the Ilonggo lawmaker, Marcos lacks decisiveness in addressing corruption involving flood control projects and Vice President Sara Duterte.
“This President had every chance to be decisive the very first day he stepped into office. He did not direct his government the way it should have been and the way people voted for him to change it,” Defensor said an interview on Bilyonaryo News Channel’s Memo with Korina.
And for this, I should have heard and seen the President said, ‘Mananagot ang gumawa nito at ipapakulong ko kung sino ang nagsimula nga kaguluhang ito sa Senado,'” he continued.
Defensor also compared Marcos to former president Rodrigo Duterte, who was admired by many Filipinos because of his strong rhetoric against corruption and illegal drugs.
Defensor will serve as one the House prosecutors in the historic impeachment trial of Vice President Duterte.IMT
