Focus crimes decreased by 24.49 percent in Western Visayas, data from the Police Regional Office (PRO-6) showed.
The regional office of the Philippine National Police (PNP) recorded 225 focus crimes from May 22 to July 19, 2026.
The figure was lower compared with the 225 incidents logged in the same period a year ago.
Focus crimes include homicide, physical injury, robbery, theft, vehicle theft, motorcycle theft, and rape.
PRO-6 spokesperson Maj. Lailyn Sencil attributed the drop to intensified intelligence-driven police operations launched in May.
She said the PRO-6 will continue to strengthen its anti-criminality campaign through intelligence-driven operations, stronger coordination with partner agencies, wider police visibility, and active participation in the community.
Meanwhile, the regional office carried out 257 anti-drug operations from May 22 to July 19, which resulted in the seizure of 17.54 kilograms of shabu and 524.46 grams of marijuana with a combined estimated value of nearly P120 million.
The operations also led the arrest of 322 drug suspects, including 115 high-value individuals and 207 street-level individuals.IMT
