More than 108,000 children aged 6 to 59 months in Iloilo province have received the measles-rubella vaccine under the Supplemental Immunization Activity (SIA).

Data from the Provincial Health Office (PHO) showed that as of August 27, 108,873 children, or 63.17% of the province’s target of 172,360, had already been vaccinated.

Among the municipalities with the highest vaccination coverage were Guimbal, which reached 98.44% of its target, followed by San Enrique at 95.46% and Miag-ao at 95.21%.

Despite the progress, more than 63,000 children remain unvaccinated, prompting the Iloilo PHO to encourage parents and caregivers to have their children vaccinated.

The PHO urged the public to take advantage of the vaccination teams continuing to visit communities and barangays to bring the measles-rubella vaccine closer to eligible children.

The ongoing campaign aims to further increase vaccination coverage and strengthen protection among children against measles and rubella.IMT
