President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has ordered government agencies to ensure equal distribution of aid to Filipinos affected by rising fuel prices.
The directive was issued during the 3rd UPLIFT Committee meeting in Malacañang, where top officials discussed measures to address the impact of the Middle East-driven oil crisis.
“Ang utos ni Pangulong Marcos Jr. sa UPLIFT Committee ay siguraduhin na maaabot ang lahat ng mga maaapektuhan at tiyakin na equal distribution ang tulong na maibibigay sa mga nangangailangan,” Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said.
The President also pushed for long-term solutions to fuel and oil supply issues, while ordering agencies to speed up the use of government funds for urgent assistance.
Among the measures rolled out is the P10-per-liter fuel subsidy for public utility vehicle drivers, part of efforts to ease the burden on commuters and the transport sector.
Marcos also stressed the need to ensure continuous oil supply to sustain the country’s economic growth.IMT
