President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos will undertake a State Visit to Japan from May 26 to 29, 2026 upon Tokyo’s invitation.
They will be received by the Emperor and Empress at the Imperial Palace for a welcome ceremony and state banquet.
Marcos Jr. will also hold a summit with Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi to discuss PH-Japan ties, including energy, food, and maritime security.
The President is also set to meet Japanese business groups and the Filipino community.
The last Philippine presidential state visit to Japan was in 2015 under Benigno Aquino III. This year marks the 70th anniversary of PH-Japan diplomatic relations.IMT
