President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has approved more than P1 million in financial assistance for the families of students killed and injured in the shooting at San Jose National High School in Tacloban City.

Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said the President was deeply saddened by the tragedy, which claimed the lives of young students.

Under the assistance package, the families of the three students who died will receive P150,000 each, while the 18 injured students will each get P50,000. Castro said the aid is on top of assistance already extended by the DSWD and the Department of Education.

She also said the administration assured the victims’ families that justice would be served, even as the minor suspects remain under the intervention program for children in conflict with the law.IMT
